A Little of History and Views

This City was founded on July 12th, 1913 by a group of immigrants (most Italian, Spanish, English and Arabs).-

Today we are near 40.000 inhabitants and have all the services (Hospitals, Electric energy, Gas, digital and satelital Telephone etc...).-

Geographical position: 38º South & 70º West in the center of Neuquén province, Patagonia, Argentina, South América at 1.100 meters height over the sea level.-

Distance to Buenos Aires (Capital City of Argentina): 1.500 km.-

Distance to the frontier line (border) of Chile (CE) in the Andes mountains ("Cordillera de los Andes"): 150 km.

The weather here is "mountain ardi-desertic" type with big differences in temperatures between days and nights.- We have hot summers and very cold winters.-

The rivers and perforations that provide us water for several uses (electricity and human use) depend on the snow accumulation what means: "no big snow storms in winter, little water in summer".- The winds are strong (more than 120 Km/h) and the summer rain is not very common.-

Industries/Activities: mining and derived products (lime, cement, marble etc), meat/cattle raising (cows, sheeps and horses) and tourism.-
